A successful consulting career is built on solid foundations. Our Core Consulting Skills Diploma is designed to give you the skills you need to shine in your current role and set you up for a dazzling future.
The Diploma consists of five modules, delivered online in 3.5 hour-long sessions. Once registered, you will become part of a small and supportive cohort of similarly experienced peers. You will receive our world-class training content, delivered live by one of our highly experienced trainers. They will facilitate interactive exercises, simulations and role-plays, and provide individual feedback and coaching, ensuring you develop the confidence and capability to forge ahead in your consulting career.

Module 1: Structured Problem Solving
You will:

Module 2: Building Trust With Clients
You will:

Learn why building trust with clients is so important, and how to do it

Practice client conversations with direct personalised feedback in a safe space

Develop confidence interacting with clients to get their buy-in

Learn the power of a one-page Problem Statement Worksheet
Module outline:

Introduce POST (Purpose, Outcomes, Structure, Timing) framework for client interactions

Discuss how to build trust with clients

Practice role-plays covering First Meetings and High Gain Questions

Assess audience for the client case study

Complete a Problem Statement Worksheet to support scope & boundary management
Module 3: Writing Recommendations
You will:

Focus down on a clear, specific recommendation to help clients take decisions

Understand the power of world-class Data Storytelling and how to use narrative-led structures to grab people’s attention

Know how to present with confidence to a challenging audience

Practice developing recommendation in a key messages page

Develop a story using a compelling narrative-led structure

Craft ‘hooks’ to engage your audience

Plan the slides that will bring your story to life

Use Tag Lines to land your Executive Summary
Module 4: Slides & Presentations
You will:

Learn to choose the right slides to land the message

Get practice presenting to a senior client

Build trust and convince them to act

Get personalised feedback and reflect on putting this into practice
Module outline:

Learn how to structure compelling materials for a client meeting

Select high impact visuals and graphics, exploiting pre-attentive response

Use charts to create a narrative from complex data

Explore techniques for presentation delivery and audience engagement
-
Practice a client meeting and get personalised feedback on your slides & presentation
Module 5: Project Management Foundations
You will:

Choose the most suitable planning approaches
-
Practice creating reliable consulting project plans
-
Focus on typical consultancy project risks and mitigation approaches
-
Become proficient at managing the client interface
Module outline:

Understand the criticality of managing the client and managing the work
-
Explore alternative planning methods and combinations

Understand hypothesis-based and product-based planning approaches

Know how to identify a project’s Critical Path

Identify and manage project risks
